Mr. Sanjiv Kumar Sachdev is a seasoned banking and finance professional with over 36 years of extensive experience in banking, project finance, debt restructuring, infrastructure funding, and resolution of stressed assets. He has served in leadership roles at premier institutions including IDBI Bank, Edelweiss Financial Services, and Oriental Bank of Commerce, and currently serves as an Independent Director on the Board of IDBI Asset Management Company.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance and is also a postgraduate in Science (Chemistry) from Kanpur University. He is a certified CAIIB and has completed numerous executive programs, including international training on project financing in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Mr. Sachdev brings deep-rooted expertise in project evaluation, financial restructuring,debt syndication, infrastructure advisory,legal documentation, and relationship management. His exceptional leadership was demonstrated in roles such as Chief General Manager at IDBI Bank, where he led large corporate and infrastructure finance portfolios across sectors like Power, Roads, Ports, Telecom, and Real Estate, managing teams of over 130 professionals.
He has been instrumental in appraising and funding several marquee projects including Mumbai Metro One Pvt. Ltd., Adani Power, Jindal Power, Pipavav Shipyard, and TRIL Infopark, with project sizes running into thousands of crores. He also represented IDBI as a Nominee Director on the boards of large corporates such as Videocon Industries, Uttam Galva Metaliks, and Jaiswal Neco Industries.
Mr. Sachdev is also known for his contributions to academia as a guest lecturer in leading commerce and management institutions, delivering insights on project appraisal, infrastructure finance, and resolution of stressed assets.
